Kathy SweetappleKathy Sweetapple (nee Feltham) is a former Art teacher. In 1984 she received her B.A. (Art/Eng) from Acadia University and made the Honor Roll and Dean’s List, as well as receiving the Bronze Medallion for Art. In 1985 she received her B.Ed. from Memorial University of Newfoundland. In 2002, her image, “In Nan’s Kitchen” won the provincial Clarenville Chamber of Commerce competition and was chosen for their Christmas ornament. That same year, her image “Island Spirit” was purchased by the provincial government. Kathy has exhibited at various venues.

Some of her past volunteer experience includes membership in the West Coast Art Council and NLTA Art Council, co-founder of the Glovertown Art Club, and Vice-Chair of the House of Diamonds Art Centre. Along with Marguerite Curtis, she was also a program coordinator for the Children’s Summer Art Program at HOD and has offered children’s workshops as well as adult painting classes. She has an abiding love for learning and has attended various workshops and seminars, including past Winterset En Plein Air events with Gerry Squires and Scott Goudie. While her favorite media have traditionally been chalk pastels and acrylics, her newest media explorations include clay relief sculptures and scratchboard drawings. Her most recent project, Colour Newfoundland and Labrador, An alphabet colouring book for all ages, was designed in partnership with Marguerite Curtis and S.D.Morgan and published by their newly formed company Mark-It Books.
