2010 - Bernice MorganFiction writer Bernice Morgan was born, and still lives in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Morgan who worked as a columnist, editor and in public relations, is best known as the author of Random Passage, published in 1992 by Breakwater Books, as was its sequel Waiting For Time (1994). The Topography of Love, a collection of short stories, was published in 2000. Morgan’s most recent novel, Cloud of Bone was published by Random House in 2007 and has been republished as a Vintage Canada soft cover. Cloud of Bone, which centers on the life of Shanawdithit, won the Writers Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Book Award for 2008 and the Newfoundland and Labrador Historic Sites Association’s Heritage and History Award.
